Sometimes, new Muslims carry heavy baggage from their past lives. You might feel unworthy of asking Allah for help because of past sins. Please remember this fundamental Islamic truth: Islam wipes away all previous sins. When you became Muslim, your slate was wiped completely clean, as pure as a newborn baby. Allah loves when you turn back to Him, no matter how many times you stumble. He is Al-Ghaffar (The Ever-Forgiving) and Al-Wadud (The Loving).

• Talk to Him Throughout the Day: You don’t need to be on a prayer mat to make Dua. While cooking, driving, walking to work, or folding laundry, mentally talk to Allah. Ask Him to make your task easy, to protect your family, or to grant you patience.
• Utilize Special Times: Certain times make Dua even more powerful, such as while it is raining, during the last third of the night, right before breaking a fast, and immediately after finishing your daily formal prayers (Salah).
